Weights and other values entered at the printer, read back by your ERP

  • Capture fields — an API job can list fields the operator fills in at the printer (capture): numbers with units and limits, choices, text. The Floor and the queue ask for them with big inputs, the label preview redraws as you type, and the values print through the matching tags.
  • Read back — GET /api/print/jobs/… now returns the data as printed, the entered values with who and when, sequence numbers and the printer. GET /api/print/jobs?status=Printed&sinceId=… lets your system poll for everything it has not seen. Nothing is pushed; you pull.
  • Any design tag the job's data left unfilled is offered as an optional field too. Reprints reuse the values as printed.

Import a label from a photo

  • Fewer bots at the door — sign-in and account forms refuse posts from Tor exit nodes, and a hidden trap field catches form-stuffing scripts before they reach the audit log.
  • Accounts by request — self-service sign-up is closed. Request an account sends us your details and we reply with an invitation. Existing invitations and team invites work as before.
  • Drag to resize — boxes now have a corner handle and lines an end handle in the designer, so a frame or rule is sized by dragging rather than typing millimetres.
  • From a photo — a third way in, next to pasting code and capturing from BarTender. Photograph the printed label, drag the corners, give its size, and a draft design opens: barcodes decoded exactly, text and layout read, and the fields that change from label to label already turned into {tags} with the photographed value as preview.

A pricing page, and partners set their own

  • Pricing — two levels, both counted in printers: Print only per printer for the site that prints, and Design per company for the people who make the labels, with printers included and a price for each extra one. Unlimited users on both.
  • Partners price their own brand — white-label partners set currency, numbers, wording and buttons for their domains from the partner portal, preview privately, then publish.
  • My account — the menu under your email in the top bar now opens your account page: change your display name or your password. A password change signs out your other devices.
  • Sign-ins in the audit trail — every sign-in, failed attempt, lock-out, sign-out and password change is recorded with its address and browser. Owners get a Company → Audit page with search and a Sign-ins only switch.

Sequences: pallet and serial numbers the app remembers

  • Company → Sequences — named counters with a prefix, digit count, next number and step. Put @seq(Pallet) on a design and every label takes the next number: PAL000412, PAL000413… Nobody has to remember the start value any more.
  • Taken at print, kept for reprints — numbers are reserved when a job is sent to the printer, never when it is queued, and a reprint reproduces the same range. The queue and Floor show what a job will take, then what it took.
  • Per site when you need it — a counter can belong to a site, with the company-wide counter as the fallback. API auto-release returns the numbers used in release.sequences.
  • Data moved — saved spreadsheets now live under the Company menu with Printers, Sequences, Team and Sites.

Floor-only sign-ins for shared devices

  • Floor only — an Owner ticks it against a member on the Team page and that sign-in becomes a device sign-in: it opens on the Floor view, the rest of the navigation is hidden and every other page sends it back. Pair it with the Operator role and a site.
  • Idle sign-out — set how many minutes a Floor-only device may sit untouched before it returns to the sign-in page, so the next shift never inherits a session.
  • See the label from the Floor — tap any job, pending or recently printed, to see the label drawn with its data before you print or reprint.
  • "Prints as" notes — when a design shifts or reformats a date field, the job's data in the queue and on the Floor says so beneath the received value, e.g. prints as 16/09/2026 (+7 days).

Print stations and the Floor view: release from a tablet or phone

  • Print stations — connect the PC that runs the Print Bridge (1.7) once, from the Printers page, and it stays connected to the service. Any signed-in device can then release jobs to that PC's printers: no bridge on the tablet, nothing opened inbound to your network.
  • Print via — the queue's release panel and Print all let you choose the route: this PC's bridge or a station. USB printers are homed on a station, and its installed printers can be picked from any device.
  • Real-time printing from your ERP — with an Owner's opt-in, an API call carrying "release": true prints at once through the named printer's station and returns the outcome. Jobs that need a person, or whose station is offline, still queue.
  • The Floor view — the queue laid out for a phone or tablet at the printer: one column, big Print buttons, tap to see the label, reprint with a reason. Stations show online or offline live.

Date tags, label hand-over, exact alignment

  • Dates from your data — a data tag can shift or reformat the date it receives: {packed+14d} prints a best-before counted from the packing date your system sent, {packed:dd/mm/yyyy} turns an ISO date into the local form. Sequences ({tag+}) are unchanged.
  • @date, @time, @datetime — filled in by the print engine at the moment of printing, in your PC's time zone, with formats and offsets: @date(dd MMM yyyy), @date(yy.mm.dd), @date(+14d) for a best-before. Design today, print any day, and the label says that day. The canvas previews today's values.
  • Move a label to another company (system admins) — design on behalf of a customer, then hand the finished label over from My Labels. Its history and images move with it.
  • A real design picker in the queue — "Queue a job" now opens a browser with your folders on the left, a searchable label list on the right, and the folder path on every result. System admins can switch to a customer's library to test their labels from the queue.
  • Align centres exactly — aligning text re-anchors it at the shared centre/edge instead of nudging by an estimated width, so what lines up on screen lines up on paper.

Print all: release the whole queue in one go

  • Print all (N) on the Pending tab — when SAP or an EDI feed drops hundreds of jobs on you, pick a printer and release them all, oldest first, with a progress bar and a Stop button. Each job still gets its own history entry and status, exactly as if you'd released it by hand.
  • Suggested printers honoured — jobs whose source system named a printer go there when it matches one of yours; the rest go to the printer you chose.
  • Nothing prints blind — jobs that still need a format, design or copies choice are counted and left pending for a person; if the Print Bridge drops out mid-run the remaining jobs stay pending rather than failing.

Import from BarTender: capture, don't convert

  • Capture from other software — the Print Bridge (v1.6) can pose as a printer. Print each BarTender, NiceLabel or Loftware format to it once and it appears in the designer's Import dialog, ready to become an editable label. No file conversion, nothing sent to the real printer.
  • ZPL import — Zebra code now imports alongside Honeywell Fingerprint: text, barcodes, boxes, lines and downloaded or inline graphics (including Zebra's compressed formats). Paste it, load a file, or capture it.
  • Tags survive the trip — set BarTender data sources to {tags} before printing and the captured fields import as Spooler tags.

USB printers through the Print Bridge

  • Connection: USB (via Print Bridge) — a saved printer can now be a printer plugged into the workstation. The bridge spools the label code raw to the printer Windows already knows, so Zebra and Honeywell USB printers work side by side on one PC and other programs keep printing to them too.
  • Pick from the PC's printers — the Printers page lists what the local bridge can see, or type the Windows printer name when setting up for another workstation.
  • Print Bridge 1.5 — adds the local-printer path and a printer list. Older bridges keep working for network printers and tell you to update when they meet a USB one.

Brand refresh

  • New mark — a barcode label, mid-print: the bar is the print head, the label tips 8° as it leaves it. It replaces the old spool glyph everywhere, favicon included.
  • Calmer chrome — one blue, Ink surfaces, derived greys. Signal orange now does exactly one job: a printer is running or something needs a person. No green, no amber.
  • Operator-first details — bigger press targets on queue actions, quantities in mono so columns scan, and roles renamed in plain language (Operators run the queue).

Sites: per-location queues, printers & licensing

  • Sites — define your locations once; head office designs for everyone, each site runs its own print queue. A user pinned to Whakatane sees only Whakatane's jobs and printers; Auckland sees Auckland's.
  • Per-site printers — printers belong to a site (or stay company-wide). Site managers' printers land at their own site automatically.
  • API routing — an optional site field on Print API jobs delivers them straight to the right location's queue.
  • Printer licensing — printer counts are licensed per site, or per company when sites aren't used, with clear "licensed for N printers" messaging when the cap is reached.

Spreadsheet printing & sequence tags

  • Print straight from your product master — upload an Excel or CSV file in the queue, filter and tick the rows you want, and each becomes a job with its tags pre-filled from matching column headers. A qty column sets per-row copies.
  • Sequence tags — write a tag as {palletNo+} in the designer and every copy steps the number: PFP000001 printed 10 times comes out as PFP000001 through PFP000010, zero-padding preserved. Works on Zebra and Honeywell, from the queue, the API and spreadsheet rows alike.

Print Queue polish: previews, cancel & restore, built-in docs

  • Images print without printer setup — logos and graphics are now embedded in the print job itself (Zebra and Honeywell alike), so nothing has to be manually loaded onto the printer. Honeywell embedding needs Print Bridge v1.2+.
  • Label preview in the queue — every job shows the exact label as it will print, with the job's real data substituted in, rendered by the same engine as the designer. It updates live as you pick a format.
  • Cancel & restore — cancel a pending job (with confirmation) to move it to history; restore it to the queue later. Both fully audited.
  • Download Print Bridge button right on the queue, with per-platform builds and setup notes.
  • API example & docs popup next to your Print API key — a copy-pasteable request and a field-by-field explanation of how tags work.

The Print Queue, the Print API, and roles

  • Print Queue — jobs from your systems (or queued by hand) wait in a pending list until someone at the printer releases them. Reprints require a reason; every event is audited with user, time, printer and copies.
  • Print API key — owners generate a key on the Team page; one JSON POST queues a job, and every field in the payload becomes a {tag} that fills the design. Idempotent, with status and cancel endpoints.
  • Supplier keys — feed jobs from one system (SAP, WMS, any ERP) to many supplier companies: supplier codes route jobs, label codes map to version-pinned approved designs, and each supplier prints on their own printers.
  • Queue a job manually or from CSV — pick a design, fill its tags (or upload a spreadsheet for one job per row), choose copies and printer.
  • Zebra ZPL support — the same designs now print to Zebra printers; each saved printer declares its language.
  • Team roles — Owner / Admin / Manager / User, matching who designs, who sets up printers, and who just prints. Plus a per-user "can queue jobs" permission.
  • Printers page — Managers maintain the company's printers (name, IP, port, language, default) without needing designer access.

Batch printing, partner self-service, designer fixes

  • CSV batch printing from the designer's print dialog — your {tags} become column names; a Qty column sets per-row copies.
  • Partner self-service — partners upload their own logo from their portal, and partner admins can be invited by email before they have an account.
  • Image handling upgraded — uploads keep their natural size, and images can be resized on the canvas by corner handle or exact millimetres, re-sampled from the original for full quality.
  • Friendlier connection recovery — a clear reconnecting overlay that retries automatically and tells you honestly when a reload is needed.
  • Sharper selection — selecting text now highlights exactly the rendered text, whatever the font or size.

  • The visual designer — canvas editing with real barcode rendering, snap and alignment, undo/redo, version history, folders and a shared company library.
  • Direct printing to Honeywell Fingerprint printers through the Print Bridge, with saved printers per team.
